Sorry. I phrased the above incorrectly.

I was able to install it, but I'm having trouble adding a new fence within the application. It automatically created three categories- folders, programs, and files/documents. I want to add another "fence" category, but the program won't let me - the option is grayed out.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please check if you have not locked your Fences. If you do, please unlock it.

Thank you.

What version you're currently on? And was this installed over previous older Fences version? Or you did run a trial of older Fences version before?

It is running on Version 5. It was not installed over an older version. I ran a trial a few days ago and then purchased an object, but neither would allow me to create a fence. I ended up uninstalling everything and trying again. Same issue

Try this steps to enable the Fences lock to show up

https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1621360668/Show+%22Lock+Fences%22+in+Fences+5. Once that show up and try turn on and off the lock and see if that help with the issue. Report back.

  1. First have you done the suggested steps in that link I mentioned in reply#8?
  2. Need to know your Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.

That is strange. Just to be clear, you did not see any error when you did the registry edit step? And if you restart Explorer.exe you still do not see the "Fences Lock"?

Do you have anything installed or mod done to change your context menu that might interfere with Fences?

What exactly is being greyed out?

Is it the "create fence" option when creating a drag and drop box on the desktop?
