Hello,

Now that Microsoft has officially released the ISO for version 24H2, we are all affected by this problem. ObjectDock 3.01 disappears every time Win-D is used.

Tested on a fresh installation of the OS, with no other software installed apart from the base OS.

None of the possible settings for ObjectDock 3.01 seem to work :

The docks disappear every time we quickly return to the desktop (button in the bottom right corner of the taskbar or using the Win-D command).

I am also using windows 11 24H2 (OS Build 26120.4230) and object dock 3.0.1 works fine.

Ah, you too? I'm having the same issue where Win+D completely borks the dock.

Could you be using an old version?

I don't see any problems with the docks using Win+D, they are at the top and right.

Versions of Windows 11 keep coming, and ObjectDock missed the train almost a year ago.
It’s still listed as compatible with Windows 11, even though it’s not.

 

How long will you keep turning a deaf ear?

ObjectDock 3.x has not been compatible with Windows 11 for over +10 months now, but I still receive emails saying it is.

 

This is misleading for new users who buy the software expecting it to work. Just check the latest forum posts — people are unhappy, and the situation isn’t improving.

 

If you’re not going to fix it, will you offer refunds for ObjectDock 3.x licenses?

In case you don't know it DamienCr, using Show Desktop even hides ObjectDock on Windows 10 also, it always has. That's the function of Show Desktop, it's supposed to hide everything on the desktop.

TOTALLY FALSE.

 

I've been using ObjectDock for about 18 years and on all versions of Windows (XP => Win11).

 

Do you want us to spin up a VM with the version of Windows 10 from the release date of ObjectDock 3.01 to compare? No, it's up to you to prove otherwise!

 

I'm not the only one making this observation. Right here @xander3000 @AsusBD @aidainfection @Gebruikertje70 confirm the problem.

 

Moving the mouse to the bottom-right corner to click to get back to the desktop did not hide the various tabbed docks if you configured it that way.

 

Open-shell, Rainmeter, Nexus... etc. listened to users and fixed the problem.

 

Why does Stardock do nothing?
Why is there no response?
Why this radio silence?
Why blame the customers or Microsoft?
Why doesn't anyone fix the problem?
Why am I still receiving "Win11 ready" ads?
Why continue to sell this software as Win11 ready AND Win10?
Why not take customer requests seriously?
Why not refund us?
Why create a forum only to ignore it?

I expect the reason for the difference you've noticed is due to Windows behavior, though as tested this was not from a change between 23H2 to 24H2.  Possibly something may have changed in Windows since the original Object Dock.  That would have been built differently back around the Windows 8 days. 

That all said, I'm happy to put your experience in as a feature request, though please know we can't give any assurances at this time due to the ever-evolving nature of Windows.  In any case, we do value your feedback.  In the meantime, you might also try docking on the edge of the screen.  I hope that helps.

It has been a while now, this doesn't help and you guys by now should have come up with a fix by now, please give a response on what's going on.

No, AsusBD states it's working fine.

The behavior you're observing is apparently rare [actually] but it has been logged by Support.

As already mentioned, keep an eye on any new notifications re a potential "fix".

The current world of shell development with Microsoft really means that the "public beta" of 11 is nothing like what people are using now.

Changes in GUI handling have almost zero bearing on typical programs like Office or Photoshop, but Shell modifiers and enhancements can suffer greatly.

While Microsoft insists on using its public as an AI testbed things will break.

Weeks are passing, and nothing is being done to provide the necessary fixes for the software we purchased. If you expect us to believe that Microsoft will take any action on our behalf, you are once again being dishonest, just as you are when you claim that it is compatible with Windows 11 which is also untrue.


One thing is certain: your competitors identified the issue from the very beginning and delivered the required fixes while keeping their users informed.
