Known issues
While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Not sure I understand what this means?
"Fixes the - File Explorer text and - Notepad text on Windows Explorer and Notepad windows on Win11 24H2"
If your talking about the app name appended to the file or folder name, I'm not seeing any difference.

Windows 11 Pro 22635.4291; Groupy2 - 2.2.0.0 Beta

You are on 24H2 I gather and you rebooted post 2.20 install.
If you go here
C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Groupy2\lang
and open the en.lng file there (Notepad is fine), is this at the end?

No, I am not on 24H2, nor will I be any time soon.
I’m on Windows 11 Pro 22635.4291; Groupy2 - 2.2.0.0 Beta
I was referring to the appending of the app name to the file or folder name in the Groupy2 tabs. See images in original post. Evidently this is by design, but it increases the length of the tab, which reduces the number of tabs possible on any given window. I’m not sure when this change was made, but there needs to be an option to turn it off. If the app icon is added to the tab in the Advanced options, it is redundant to append the app name to the tab.
Thanks,
pelaird

The fix will only apply on 24h2 installs. We were not aware earlier versions of Windows were doing this too. We may be able to tweak this for release.

Awesome!
Is there a way to have Groupy respect the saved tabs for Windows Notepad? I installed the Beta and like the changes, but when I open my Notepad app, which I also switch from opening in a new tab to the new window, the currently open tabs do not show up - just the last tab is opened. Can the app not open all of them? For this reason, I have removed the beta.
Try different combinations of these settings and see if it makes any difference.

The start new session and discard changes is not an option as I have the other option selected continue previous session - basically snapshot mode (unsaved tabs for notes, etc.). Opening files in a new tab needs to somehow work with Groupy.

This extends the - File explorer text removal to 23H2. I suspect the issue is in the beta update to 23H2 but have included 23H2 original in it too just in case.
Fixed it for me. Thanks so much!
Tweak which may stop extract zipped folder auto grouping, though it did not reproduce in-house.
This did indeed fix the issue for me - great job and thank you!
