I have sworn off Multiplayer. I have lost all games I have tried and it has not even been close. I feel like succer bait for dominant players. No my I will stick to single player.
Multiplayer is a different beast and the learning curve can definitely be steep. There's no matchmaking system here so there's no skill-based pairing, it's just whatever players happen to be in your lobby. There are plenty of helpful people in the Discord that can help you get your feet under you in multiplayer. I'd recommend paying a visit and asking questions.
