Cannot launch the game

I just downloaded the game from STEAM. However, there was an alert said ‘the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142)’ when I tried to load it.

And I used the windows log to find that there was a crash at mimalloc-override.dll

My operation system is Win11 Professional Version 24H2, 26100.1742.

I just thought it may be a compatibility issue of the library . Could you team kindly provide a bug fix for it?

Hello! We just updated the test edition of the game, could you first verify your files than try swapping to the test edition and let us know if either resolves your issue?

To Change to Test Edition on Steam:

  1. Select ‘Sins of a Solar Empire II’ in your Steam Library.

  2. Click the gear icon in the upper right.

  3. Select Properties → Betas

  4. Select 'test_edition' from the Beta Participation dropdown.

  5. Steam will update you to the latest files.

  6. To switch back repeat step 4 and select ‘None’

Hi Ramma,  thank you.

I've tried use the test_edition, however, it still didn't work.

The error Lib became the ntdll.dll rather than mimalloc-override.dll

And I also used the verify files function which didn't help.

Thank you for the update on this, Ill communicate this to the team.

To help collect details, it would be helpful if you ran the following support software
This software will arrive as a zip, once unzipped please run the batched executable which will run a command prompt. From there it will open your related Sins folder and youll see a new subfolder labeled Support_Date. Please Zip that file and send it over via dropbox link, google drive, or Discord DM. That new folder will basically contain system specs, logs, mods, save files, and more that can be very helpful.

Hey, I am sorry to hear that it still does not work.
Team is currently out due to thanksgiving, but I will try to get someone on Monday to look at the issue.

Also, are you able to start the game launcher? Or does it break even before the launcher?

Thanks for the effort. I can start the game launcher. The issue happened after I try to click the Start Button
