Inactive windows sometimes not working on startup

I wonder whether anybody would have this problem as well:

I am using the WindowFX feature to dim inactive windows. When starting Windows (W11), WindofFX starts, but the effect is sometimes not applied. Disabling and enabling the specific feature activates the effect after some attempts.

Anybody else? Any workarounds? Has this ever been addressed?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know:

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number, please use Winver.exe
  2. WindowFX full version number.

Thank you.

I can not reproduce your issue on my Windows 11 system. Few questions.

  1. There is a newer WindowFX v 6.13 release, please upgrade to that version and see if it help with your issue.
  2. Do you have specific steps you take to ensure the issue appear. So that I can try and see the issue on my system.

Thank you,

1. At least for me there does not seem to be any update to 6.13 available (see screenshot below. Besides I do not think that an issue that has never been brought successfully to attention would be fixed in a minor release.

2. There is no way to reproduce the behaviour: The one day it is starting fine, the next day it isn't. I can tell you what does not make a difference: Starting applications right after system start or waiting for everything to be loaded. You will not be able to reproduce this issue. The only way to nail it down would be some logging - but how would WindowFX log the successful application of visual effects?

If you go to your account download product page version 6.13 should be available there. https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Do let us know if it don't show up in there. I asked you to update to the latest version just to cut down the possibilities. Not sure why the no updates notification show up for your system while the update for version 6.13 was on 26th Oct 2022. Ref: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowfx/history

However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
