With the DesktopGPT 0.76.1 (was 0.76.0) release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining Object Desktop Insider Builds

Object Desktop members can get beta and Insider builds from within Object Desktop Manager with 'Enable Object Desktop Insider builds' enabled:

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

  • Log files for DesktopGPT

    For log files, please go here:

    C:\Users\[EnterYourWindowsAccountHere]\AppData\Local\Stardock\DesktopGPT

    You are going to want to insert your Windows account name (no brackets) in that path - you can then paste it into Windows Explorer and it should go directly there:

As shown, we want the: DesktopGPT_Log.txt file.  You can upload it to a cloud drive service of your choice (OneDrive, GoogleDrive, PasteBin, etc) and post a shared link to it in a reply post.  Please do not post the entire raw text in a reply.

Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

I installed the DesktopGPT 0.76.0 version, added my OpenAI API key, confirmed I have credits available with OpenAI, and tried to summarize a few short paragraphs of text or just about anything. But Nothing happens when I click the submit button. Tried different models as well, but no luck. Looking at the log, I see a lot of the below when I hit the submit button:

I have installed DesktopGPT 0.76.0 BETA.

This version still does not support languages other than English.

I tried typing in Korean, and the program immediately crashes and shuts down.

This problem has been going on since the previous version, but I'm reporting it here because it hasn't been resolved.

Thank you for reporting this error to us. The error only appears to be affecting the /summary template.  We will get out a fix as soon as possible.

Yes, currently DesktopGPT only supports English.  We are still trying to get set on the basic set of features that DesktopGPT will have.  At a later time we will review implementing support for other languages.

In regards to your crash,  could you please submit a support ticket and send your DesktopGPT log file.
