Crash when loading effects UI

I've got a clean install of Deskscapes 11, and every time i click on the Effects tab, it starts to render the UI and then the app crashes with no error.  Process just dies.  Anyone run into this and find a way around it?

Do you have another live wallpaper app installed? Such as Wallpaper Engine or Lively Wallpaper? There could be a possible conflict with Deskscapes. There is also a app for Windows, which simulates Apple's version of live wallpaper, which might also cause issues for Deskscapes. Please see below:

Please try cleanboot and see if there is conflicting issue with other software: https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#cleanboot.

Thanks I'll try to isolate the issue with a clean boot.  I don't have any similar software installed, I do have a 32:9 display which I do find myself wondering if there's an incompatibility there.
