Workspaces - MS's new productivity tool

A new feature for Powertoys

https://www.xda-developers.com/powertoys-tool-workspaces/

Not to be confused with Edge's Workspaces.

"Here's how it works. To get started, you open up all the apps you want to use at the same time for a specific Workspace. Then, arrange them as you'd like - this includes putting them in halves or corners of monitor space. Once you're done, tell Workspace to take a snapshot of which apps are open and their arrangement."

- Simon Batt, XDA

The snapshot can be activated anytime you wish...and you'll also be able to make as many Workspaces as you wish. Sounds really good to me. No date yet, but probably pretty soon.

Check it out at the link above.

Have a great weekend!

The article I read said it would be included in ver. 0.84.0. We're on 0.83.0 now, so I would guess very soon. PowerToys is a very powerful utility and the design, using modules, is unique. Some of the modules I use everyday are FancyZones, Keyboard Manager, Mouse Pointer Crosshairs, and Color Picker.

I agree that this looks very good. You can kind of do this now using the Windows settings in Sign-in Options, but only one setup.

Thanks for the reference.

Punishment like that? What did they do to deserve such an ignominious fate?

I have a pretty good vocabulary, but I had to look that one up!

Well, the MS Windows 11 development team needs some direction from somewhere besides focus groups.
