Impossible to make groups on Groupy 2

''Simply drag your program windows on top of each other to neatly group them together.''

This is stated on the website I tried this multiple times, but it does not work. Does anyone have better settings to make groups in Groupy 2? Or any idea how I could resolve this. Please any help would be gratefull. As I really want to use this software

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. First, make sure your Groupy is enable.

Second, please review your Grouping Setting: Manual Grouping by drag and drop Try changing those setting. I usually set mine to "Only group windows when the ctrl key is held down". Also do know, make sure you're click and drag on the titlebar not on the tab. Some application like browser have tabs, you can click and drag on a tab to move that tab away from that browser. But you can not drag that tab into another windows to group it by Groupy. You will need to click and drag on the titlebar for that.

Try that if that still do not work. You might need to check your Groupy rules section.

Thank you.

Okay, first, let make sure Groupy installed properly. Please try this, uninstall Groupy 2. Reboot immediately after installation finished. Re-download latest Groupy from your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it and reboot immediately after installation finish. Retest and report back.

Refer to my short video on what my very basic setting look like:

If the issue still happen, please provide us with these information.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Video grab of what you see when you try to group 2 application, for example, Calculator add to Windows explorer. Something like my my video above.

Assuming, you have done, the reinstall steps mentioned above, and your setting is the same as my setting shown in my video above. If the issue still there.. It look like something is blocking Groupy to work properly. If you have Windows Pro version, please test Groupy on Windows Sandbox: https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#Sandbox. Try it there and see if the same issue still there, no need to test it on other application, just use Calculator and Windows explorer should be sufficient to see the issue.

Suddenly, I really do not know how, a groupy 2 icon popped up in the powerpoint extension, however adding new tabs to the powerpoint extension does nothing, are there really not other manual ways to create groups instead of dragging.

As I mentioned above, please post a video on grouping simple application like Calculator and Window file explorer.
