Annual Vs Permanent License for Fences 5

If I purchase the permanent license for Fences 5, I understand it only applies to Fences 5.  I assume when there is a Fences 6 I will have to pay for a new license.  My question is how long is the normal period between version upgrades.

The Life Cycle would have to be three years to justify the permanent license. In my experience, most software is on a one or two year life cycle. Also, if you use just one other Stardock product, the Object Desktop subscription is the most economical.

Additionally, I do not believe Fences 6 is very far off. I suspect that it will be released by the end of this year.
