"Unable to open archive file" error when trying to install

from Stardock Forums

As in the title. When I try to install the program I get the error. The window of the error message is titled "Launcher Error".

 

Windows 11 ThinkPad laptop, I've tried even installing previous versions of Groupy. I don't have ransomware protection activated. Also, I'm not willing to reinstall windows, it's way too much of a hassle just to (maybe) get Groupy working, I need a fix as is.

Yes I have, both for Groupy 1 and Groupy 2. Same result.

Hello, I just tried it in the Sandbox and it functioned there normally.

I tried to re-download the installer and tried it again in the normal enviroment, and I got the same error again.

 

Is there any way to proceed without reinstalling windows?

Hello, I'd like to share here the thing that fixed this issue for me.

I move the installer file to a different folder.
