Tab Spontaneously detches

Objectdock v 2.20.0.862 has been detaching a random tab and I cannot find any way to re-attach it.

How can I prevent this from happening.

The only resolution that I have found is to move each shortcut to a new tab then remove the offending tab.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know you on Windows 7 or 8? Also need its full version number. Please use Winver.exe.

Thank you.

I cannot provide a video for 2 reasons:

1. I cannot predict when a tab will detach,

2 I have no way to record a video.

The only solution that I have used is to create a new tab on the dock, then move each shortcut from the detached tab to the new one.If I upgrade to V3, will it work on windows 8.1?

Most likely, no. ODv3 is designed for W10 and W11. May I ask why you're on W8.1 and not W10 or W11?

With all of the "furor" surrounding the initial release of Windows 10 (and later 11) I was very reluctant to upgrade.

Just recently I purchased a refurbished an HP Elitebook with Windows10 to see for myself. While I have no operational complaints (yet,) I have too much software and too little time (or desire) to transfer all of my programs, or the finances needed to replace the many commercial programs that I use.

I do not believe that I can still upgrade to Windows 10. Windows 11 is out of the question because my laptop is not hardware compatible.

Can you post at least a screenshot showing us how the issue look like.

This is what I get on my Windows 8 system.

Thank you,

Tbh, you run a good deal of risk running W8.1, as MS doesn't update it. Were I you, I'd disconnect it from the net and connect as little as possible. I'm afraid to ask about your browser.

I only use tiles and not tabs here, but is there a setting to Lock Dragging in the menu when your right click on the tab? Locking it may help.

I can find no option to "lock dragging".

I mean if you just right click on the tab, you do not get any menu popups showing like in the image I posted?

That not available on Tabs dock. Not sure if the same but on tabs dock you have these.

Still need screenshot with detached tab.

OK! Thanks for showing me the setting.

I have set it, and time will tell if that helps.

If I get another detached tab, I will post a screen shot.
