Blurry Text Explorer

Hello

I'm currently trying out WindowBlinds on the free trial. I already own Start11 & Object Dock. I'd like to purchase WindowBlinds to add to my setup but I've ran into a issue with every skin I've tried. When I enable dark mode the text in explorer turns blurry.  Right now I'm using The Raven Skin. I'm on Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.3737).

With this skin it also puts a background image on my taskbar. I had Start11 make my taskbar transparent. I figured out how to make the bar transparent again in The Raven transparency settings but the taskbar image is still there. How do I remove the image?

Thanks

I just applied Raven. The only image I see on my taskbar is the start button image, which changes when you hover or click on it with a mouse. You could, I suppose, remove the skin's default start button and use another one from another skin I suppose, but IMO that may be more trouble than it's worth. And that start button has to be compatible with Windowblinds. Most start buttons found online are not compatible, but they do work with Curtains. As for the text being blurry, I can't reproduce that on my system. I am on dark mode, and the text on Raven is fine. You could try this in Windowblinds, go back to the default windows skin, and then reapply the Raven skin and see if that makes any difference. If not, try shutting down your pc and than starting it up again. Then report back.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. For the first issue, its the blur text on explorer.exe, yes? If so, one question, how do you make the Explorer.exe background semi transparent and blur? Another 3rd party software?

Second issue, was you talking about that blue glow that appear in the top center of the taskbar?

Thank you.

Hello

Yes, which I honestly don't remember what I used to get that effect. I was using other programs/apps to change my Windows UI before I found WindowBlinds. Since I only recently reinstalled Windows I decided to just reinstall it again. Just finished setting everything up & that problem is gone. The text is normal. I also bought WindowBlinds so now I have the full version.

Yes! It's like a shadow that's on the bottom task bar. Any idea how to remove that? I also seemed to have a new issue in file explorer there is a separation between the address/details/options bar and the folder & devices. Seems to be related to The Raven theme other themes I've tried don't have that problem. Maybe I'm just better off looking for a different theme.

No mater what theme I use though there doesn't seem to be a way to make the Taskbar completely transparent. There is always a blur to it. Also is there a way with Stardock's programs to make the file explorer blurred?

Thanks

Not sure this one, the bottom of taskbar? screenshot with light wallpaper with an arrow pointing to which area you're referring to.

I believe on the taskbar issue, you was referring to this dark overlay area which do not goes transparent, while the taskbar itself already 100% transparent, yes? If so, that part is in the Raven skin itself. You will need to remove that part via the Skinstudio. Its a Glyph image overlay on the taskbar set by Raven designer.

To remove it you will need to open up Skinstudio 11, open the Raven skin. Go to Edit Startmenu and taskbar area-> Edit Horizontal taskbar-> Background-> Click on Glyph-> This is the image you need to remove. You can do so by click on Code editor tab and remove

GlyphTransMode=3
GlyphImage=The Raven\taskbar_win7GLYPH.tga
GlyphHorzAlign=0

Save skin-> Apply skin.

Using SkinStudio I was able to make the Taskbar completely transparent but removing the entire code info.

This is the space I'm talking about. I've outlined it so you can see it easier.

My guess it has to do with transparency settings. It's also happening to other skins not just The Raven.

Thanks for the help

EDIT: Does CursorFX & IconPackager Support Windows 11?

Strangely, I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Yes, there is a lighter line under the ribbon area, but it not fully transparent, like your screenshot.

I have this exact same issue.  Transparent line under the ribbon area all the way across and it happens on all skins I have tried.  RJMayhem were you able to get this fixed and how?
