I am a little confused with DesktopGPT and ChatGPT 4 pricing (the help has made it more so), is it something that we will have to pay for?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. From what I know, for now the software come free with your ObjectDesktop subscription. And I believe, it mentioned that, you will get 75000 token free initially.
