drop target

icon in a dock that I can drop a file in

Hi,

I would like to have an icon in a dock pointing to a folder. Is there an option that I could drag and drop files onto that icon so that they are added to that folder? Similar to a regular windows shortcut on my desktop onto which I can drop files, which are then just moved to that folder.

Hi Basj,

nearly a year - - - are your developers busy implementing my deepest desires?

The other problem that I am eagerly waiting for to be solved, are the missing icons when dropping a URL from a browser onto a dock to create a bookmark. The link is still created but nothing is displayed - it would be great if you could pick up the favicon from the website, but even just the browser icon would be helpful.

Hi,

I totally appreciate that in regards to the drop target - having been a SW developer - but the missing icon on dropping a url from a browser (which would create a shortcut when dropped in the desktop) onto a dock, I would consider a bug. I agree that picking up the favicon of the site would be a new feature - that was just an idea I had when I wrote my last message.

(by the way, I just tried to drop that URL on the desktop - which created the expected shortcut - and then dropping that shortcut onto my tabbed dock, also created a link without an icon, while a shortcut to a pdf created the link with the correct acrobat icon.)
