Problem installing Deskscapes 10 or 11

 

Still trying to install Deskscapes 11 without error- so, I thought I'd try DS 10 and got the following two errors:

So to reiterate, I do have a D: drive that's mapped to a network share - So I'm still stumped trying to install  DS 10 or 11 When I try to install DS 11 I just get the second error about the D: drive not existing.

Hi ghitelj2,

To demonstrate if this is a conflict with a product or with your network configuration, I'd like to recommend that you conduct a test using Windows Sandbox.  This will replicate a freshly installed operating system without any other software installed. 

If you don't have this, the following guide will walk you through the steps to enable Windows Sandbox:

Please remember, downloading and activating your product while in the Sandbox environment will use an available device registration for your Stardock product.  It is strongly advised that you completely uninstall the product before closing out of the Windows Sandbox.

Once enabled, check to see if issue persists.  The likely diagnosis is that your network configuration is causing the problem.

So DS 11 installed fine on a Sandbox... So how do i proceed, please.

I just have a Synology NAS - nothing fancy in my configuration and DS is the only app that will not install. I've even shut off the Diskstation and I still get error that D: does not exist!

I've even purged my system of all Stardock apps and gone through the registry to delete any references to "Stardock" and "Deskscapes" and DS will NOT install. This is very frustrating.

Interesting. Unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to recreate your entire setup to triage the issue.

By purge, do you mean you specifically followed the following steps?

If not, I strongly advise you do so.
