Received an email with promotional price, but it is not valid

Hello,

Today I received an email from you about the Start11 app that says "Don't wait for your trial to expire. Activate Start11 for only $6.99 today to continue enjoying the benefits of having the Start menu you love on Windows 10/11.", but pressing the "Get it Now" button routes me to your website where the price is 9.99$. I wanted to clarify if it is possible to buy the app at the specified price?

Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I believe the price offered is if you purchase it from within United States of America. If you are not, than, from what I know, there are local taxes and currency exchange rates added onto the offered price.

Same in Belgium: I saw a great price for WindowBlinds 11, which was $16.99 with the coupon code trial-15-off. For us in Belgium, $16.99 is approximately equal to €15.66 (thanks to Google for making this conversion to euros).
When I click the link from the promo email, I still have to pay €29.74 (or $32.28). This is almost double, so not really correct.
Also strange, on March 29 WindowBlinds 11 cost €23.99 and on April 7 it was €34.99.
Today I get a 15% discount and I still end up with €29.74. So even more expensive than 2 weeks ago.
I also see that this is a version for 5 Active Installs. What is the price for 1 active install?

You would need to add sales taxes in your conversion as US prices do not include that due to massive differences between states.  As for the difference, I suspect it was on sale for Easter and no longer is.

We do not offer a one active install version, only five active installs.

Any offer price should include overseas taxes (it is the law for retail sales un the UK/Europe) at at very least state it is excluding taxes.  Also, the amount does not add up to the rate plus taxes and the offer does not say it is excluding taxes.

Unfortunately this is only added at checkout as until then Stardock have no way of knowing which area you are really in.  Also be aware that UK/EU/Whatever other part of the world consumer laws may not apply when purchasing online to foreign companies (it depends on the setup of the company and if they have offices in your region).  This is also why when buying physical goods you would be liable for import duties as you are the importer not the company selling the item.

I am surprised if the mail did not mention excluding taxes and I will raise this as they always should do.

You should also be aware the exchange rate you see online is not the rate you will be charged anywhere.  This is a mid market rate (so neither buy or sell) and the actual rate is always a little worse than you see at best.

I understand Brad Sams sent you a private message about this particular issue as your issue differs to the above anyway and is linked to emails with an incorrect price that I believe he is willing to help you with.  I recommend reading his private message on these forums.

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you see any expiry date mentioned on the e-mail? Also, do take note of Sales tax in your region so the price will be different from what mention in the email.
