File Explorer Buttons Not Changing

I am trying to get my windows 11 to look as windows xp as possible, and I got a few things installed: RetroBar, OpenShell, and Windowblinds 11. I got everything almost down to a T, however I noticed that the file explorer buttons, (buttons such as forward and back for example), are still windows 11 styled. yet every tutorial I've seen has the buttons get changed to the selected theme. How do I fix this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Some suggestion I read is to use Windhawk. I never user it myself since I need to keep my system as vanilla as possible. But, maybe you can give it a try.

I had the same problem when trying to make Win11 look like XP. The fix for me was installing ExplorerPatcher and enabling the classic ribbon after that, WindowBlinds finally skinned the back/forward buttons correctly. Just apply the theme again and restart Explorer. RetroBar won’t change those buttons, so don’t worry about that part. Hope it helps!
