DeskScapes Ver. 11 Doesn't Like the File Extension .JPEG

I recently had trouble with DeskScapes images downloaded from WinCustomize not showing up in DeskScapes ver. 11.

If I downloaded the image from WinCustomize and then placed in the folder "C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Stardock\DownloadedDreams," it would not show up in DeskScapes.

If I downloaded the image from within DeskScapes, and then tried to "Apply background," I got the following message.

"Unable to load this background.

Typically it means it is using a codec you do not have a decoder for such as MPEG2.

I wasn't sure what was going on, and then I discovered these images had the file extension .jpeg. If I renamed the image with the .jpg extension, then everything worked as expected.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. My guess this is known since jpeg is not listed as compatible files. However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks

Thanks Basj. Just wanted to let someone know. Sed was uploading some of his walls as .jpeg and I couldn't get them to work. I sent him a PM letting him know what was going on.

You can create another folder in documents/stardock and put your jpegs in. Add the folder in settings and you should have no more problems with jpegs..

It's easier to just change the file extension to .jpg, but that doesn't help DeskScapes users who are trying to download walls from within DeskScapes.
