it's a setting in Properties and you can adjust the colors all at once so you find a setting that is easy on your eyes

what is your idea of easy on the eyes?? Personally I can't really handle most dark skins because it's often hard to read the text in certain applications. if you take a look at some of the suites offered at www.pixtudio.com they have a few really nice OS like suites that will probably work.

I found grey/blue/white combinations are best for me and my eyes. Hmm, maybe that is the reason why they are so popular.

hehe this remind me of my Aqualistic wb skin, for my eyes at that time i could read the text just fine. And of course many people complain so I changed the text colors. But come on what do you mean by easy on eyes. I see some great wbs skin out there with something "i want one that's easy on eyes so i made..." but looking at the ss it really hurts my eyes so...change the text if you could or just go back to the xp or 98 look

I do not believe you. I don't believe that you've tried even 10 windowblinds and you can't read the text and menus in MS word with them. People spend a lot of time creating these themes, and they use them while they work on them to fix errors like colors.

People must understand that these blinds are supposed to be used every day

No, you don't understand. These people create skins that appeal to them. They are not getting paid to create a skin that you can use everyday. They upload these themes to share with you and hoping you will enjoy and appreciate the effort that they put into it. Obviously not, cause you just cripe and cripe, without any factual support. Or, name ten skins, that you can't read the text, then.

And you say, don't tell me to make my own? Then, don't tell artists how to spend their time making a skin when you aren't paying them. Your comments and your nickname really upset me. I appreciate the efforts of these artists. I think you need to find another Site to Krush, KrushinatorSte. Your attempts to Krush the artists here, had no effect.

Certainly there are some skins that are either too bright or too dark for everyday use for most people, it doesn't mean that there aren't people who want those skins.
However I find overall the skins tend to be very usable. Souluna, Crystal, WindowsMAX, PrimaXP are just a few that do not stray very far from the default look of Windows, but are far better to use I think, and easy on the eyes for sure.

Krush, there are many different skins here and if you check it out you can change the coloring of any skin with the configuration of Windowblinds...

You might try a different tact when posting if you really seek some help and or understanding of your position...

If you find a skin which appeals to you as far as the design goes, post in here and I or someone else can help you go through and change the coloring so it is easier on your eyes.
Bt do not forget that unless you are paying for a skin then it is done freely and given freely to the public to use. The person did the skin for themselves and no one else so questioning if they understand the skins should be anything more than a hobby for them or a passion is moot..

Listen to IPlural!   Krush....... maybe you could be a little more specific about what you find annoying. Your comments are too vague........ some of us don't have MS Word, and have no idea what it looks like when skinned.

If you open your system display properties, then click on the appearance tab, then click on the advanced button you will find lots of font overrides. In the advanced window you will find at the bottom a button called other advanced controls. You can use these to change almost any setting you want.

If you still can't get it to suit you, you can open the windowblind configuration utility and exclude word so that it is not skinned at all.

Not sure exactly what the problem is, but you could try excluding Word from being skinned (just like goodmorphing said right above me. Little slow today ). I have a few things excluded for ease of work and whatnot....

I find light light blue and grey screens look great, however, in MS word there is an image of the piece of paper and with the XP default skin, there is a soft khaki colour surrounding it. In most other skins, however stunning they look on the desktop, use colour like silvers, grays and really light blues which come off really intense as a background for the page in MS words.

Weird, never noticed that with Word. I have Windows 2000 not XP, and my version of Word is ancient. So maybe that's it.

Ah, in Word (XP anyway) the text page is fine. I guess what the user doesn't like on occasion is the background color that surrounds the page (which presumably changes depending on the skin used). I'd imagine that WB's per app exemption settings could probably adjust that to suit or at least send it back to default. (Oh, btw, when WB is running, on XP the system default is the classic style, not Luna. So if a program or component isn't skinned, it will appear as it does in the classic "unskinned" style.)

Play arond with the WB settings on the per app section and find what works for you. You'd have to select Word as the app for exclusion and then check the exclude from skinning settings that get you the effect you want (or rather, get rid of the skinning you don't want). (Perhaps "background" is the first to exclude and see if that restores the default.)

Just to clarify, that "background border" around the page itself exists in Word if you're using the Print Layout view. Otherwise you won't see it.

it wouldnt let me change the colours unfortunately is this due to me not registering i didnt think so but now i think it is possible
