WindowBlinds is not applying complete changes to windows

I'm on the trial version

Hey there, everyone. I'm currently on the WindowBlinds trial right now, and I'm currently having an issue with the software. I've included a screenshot to help compare what a WindowBlinds style is supposed to look like on a computer versus how it actually looks like for me. The windows ribbon on top is still white, along with the details ribbon on the bottom.

I'm also not sure if using Windows OS's Dark Mode is okay with WindowsBlinds.

Is it possible to get Windows 11 to play nice as expected with WindowBlinds styles?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. It is known that some part of Windows 11 will not be able to skin properly by WB. Best thing to do is ask the Skin author for some advice on how they make their screenshots. Some might introduce 3rd party software that will change Explorer to work better with WB.

Thank you.

Hello chillingandtrilling! That is my Embellish theme which has not been updated totally yet for Windows 11. I will be updating all my themes and supplying them on my web site in the future: LightStar Design – OS Customization Designs

I also totally recommend using Windhawk and setting the items in this image and you can change Windows 11 to look more like Windows 10! It’s FREE! Get it here: https://windhawk.net/

Keep an eye out on this thread: LightStar Design Windowblinds Themes » Forum Post by LightStar (wincustomize.com) where I announce new and updated themes released on my site.

Ah, so the issues I'm encountering are issues with the themes being made for Windows 10, eh? I'm kind of tempted to buy a license for WindowBlinds if it would give me the ability to create themes that are compatible with Windows 11. :frogboy:

And oh wow, I wasn't expecting to get an offer from LightStar themselves! Thank you so much for the offer to make a Windows 11 version! No worries if any issues come up along the way, I'm still grateful for the answer as to why my results with this program wasn't matching up with the screenshots on the website. Your styles look very good btw, and is why I think it'd be cool if WindowBlinds would work lol.

Thank you chillingandtrilling, but you must understand the only was to get explorer looking more like it does in my screenshot is to install and apply those settings in Windhawk to Windows 11. Hope that's OK, because I really hate those tabs in windows explorer, so I will not do them in SkinStudio 11. To me, that is one of the hundreds of absolutely stupid things Microsoft has done.

Is that so? Well, I could give Windhawk a try and see if that will finally let WindowBlinds styles to look alright on Windows 11. Thank you very much for the advice, I'll install Windhawk right now.

These are the things I have applied in Windhawk if it helps:

There are tons of other mods you can do with Windhawk though. :-)

Thank you, I am getting much better results now that I have Windhawk and some mods installed. For the sake of other people who are curious about the results, I'll post some screenshots.

So for fellow peeps like me who are still curious about WindowBlinds work, something that may come up is that your OS's default light or dark mode will still show up as the background of your file explorer's home window.

However, visiting any other page in the explorer gives the proper theme coloring.

I'm okay with this result, and I'm grateful for the help given to a total newbie like me. :) I was able to download the new Embellish style from your excellent website, LightStar, and I hope you have a wonderful day. :star:
