Spanish language in English Game

Lost in Translation?

This Event popped up, and it seems as those some of the i18n data is messed up.  My Spanish isn't very good so I tend to play in my native English.       Sorry about the size, next time I'll see if I can reduce it.

I have a problem understanding your problem.

Is it that the option is in Spanish, or something else?

I do not even speak Espanol if the problem is not under standing the option it is " declare war on Baratak Grove.

What is i18n?

As for the option being in the "wrong" language thanks for the report.

Simply put, it's asking if you want to declare war on the Baratak Grove. I haven't seen this before, but I understand it can be frustrating when you're confronted with an language you don't know well. Maybe you should check your Universal Translator or fire your Xeno linguist. Just kidding!

Yes, the problem is that their code shouldn't be mixing Spanish text in the English version of the game. Therefore this is a bug that I am trying to report.

I know exactly what it says, I was pointing it out as a bug so that the dev team can fix it. I guess this isn't the appropriate forum for this?

The i18n is Dev shorthand for Internationalization, ("I" + 18 letters + "n").  Are you on the Devteam gypsy2299 ?

"my Spanish isn't very good" was my attempt to keep the post jovial, hence the great big smiling face

No but am a mod on other Gal Civ forums and this is the place for bug reports.

I asked my question as it was unclear what you were asking and nowhere did you indicate it was a bug report.

I asked just what the SD crew would have so when they get back Monday or Tuesday they would know.

Monday is a US holiday so them being here on that day is not a sure thing.

I reported this problem months ago on Discord. I think it started happening to me after I downloaded some civs from the workshop. I wasn't sure if it was Spanish or Portuguese. Anyway, it was still happening to me this last week, so when I started a new game I deleted all the civs I had downloaded and so far it hasn't happened again, although I'm only about 20 turns into the new game, so I wouldn't consider that definitive yet.

That's interesting.  The game this occurred in was one I started in Vanilla GC4 and after roughly 100 turns, during a break, I did download some Civs from the Workshop, couple of days later, (still haven't started a game with any of the new Civs yet) the language prompt is mess up.

Downloading the civs was all it took, I never actually tried having them in any of my games.

thank you guys for posting about this. If you don't mind, do you have impacted save files, preferably set to the exact turn that the event shows the incorrect language text by chance?

I still have the Save files from the game.... somewhere.  but, I didn't think to grab the save from before the issue.  So the best I could do would be to zip up those files and send them.

It happened again, in the same game, in a slightly different way

But this time I grabbed some pertinent save files

The save I named was immediately after the bug occurred, and I added the 2 previous Auto Saves

Hope these will get you on the right path.

After deleting the last of the downloaded civs that I had suspected of causing this problem, I started a new game, and after 100 turns I got this, so I would conclude that the downloaded civs were not the cause of the problem.
