Strange behavior even when Groupy is not active

Applications are grouped although Groupy is not running

Because of problems with Groupy, I decided to switch it off.  Groupy was off when I booted the computer today, but applications started grouping themselves even in the absence of Groupy.  What is going on???

Just some additional information.  The only way to stop applications grouping themselves even when Groupy is inactive is to uninstall Groupy.  When I have done so, the behavior of the programs returned to normal.

It is important for Stardock to make sure that when Groupy is not running, the programs return to their default behavior.

I think the issue here is a misunderstanding of that option.

The setting you circled is for a mouseover bar for non grouped windows.  It does not disable Groupy, merely that bar that shows on ungrouped windows.

To disable groupy scroll down in that window and use the option to disable Groupy.

Looking at your grouped tabs, if those all auto grouped then that suggests you have told Groupy to do so either via automatic grouping for a single app (if those are all the same app), or by setting up a custom rule thats incorrect and causing multiple unexpected matches.

Thank you for clarifying the different options of the Groupy dialog

Unfortunately, you are wrong here.  The applications grouped as soon as I launched them.  I did not create any automatic grouping or create any custom rules.

If they are grouping automatically then there is a rule or setting telling Groupy to do so.
