Unable to Demolish Razar's Lift

I've found that for some reason I'm unable to destroy Razar's Lift on the planet that I've built it on. I've tested this in two different games with the same result so I'm just wondering whether or not this is intentional or a bug.

My understanding is that Galactic Achievements cannot be destroyed by design.
