Groupy 2 bugs

Groupy 2 seems to be quite buggy. Here are some problems I am encountering (using Windows 10 on a Lenovo P71 laptop)--

 1. I have selected a blue color background on the Groupy tab bar, and have selected to have Groupy control the color (otherwise I can select either black or white okay, but I can’t get any other color to work). It remains black or white, no matter what I set it to do. However, if I right-click on the Groupy tab bar, it does turn blue momentarily, but then when I navigate the cursor away from the tab bar, it turns black again.

2. I have six Chrome windows in my Groupy setup, but often, without warning, suddenly I have only two or three windows. If I then minimize Groupy, and then bring it back up again, the six windows show again (for a while).

3. I have to use Groupy 2 in a normal window (not maximized) fir it to work right. If I maximize Groupy, the Groupy tab bar overwrites the individual program tab bars, making it impossible to use. This is true even though I have the Groupy tabs set to be “above” the individual program tab bars.

Can these issues be fixed or controlled?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Let work with your issue one at a time. Please review my short video below and see if the result is not the same as what you get on your system. If it is not the same. Please post a video and show us what do you see on your system.

Thanks

I do what your video says to do, but it doesn’t work right (on my computer anyway). As mentioned in my Forum post, I had earlier set the Focused Background Bar Color to blue, but for this test, I tried changing it to yellow (see the first attached screenshot). However, it remains black when the settings window is off, but then turns blue (not yellow) when the Settings window is open. However, when I then turn the Settings window off again, it again reverts to black (see second attached screenshot).  This same thing even happens after quitting and restarting Groupy 2.

Thanks,

Joe

Need to know your Windows 10 full version numbers. Use Winver.exe to get its full version numbers. I was on Win10 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3448)

I updated my Windows 10 to OS Build 19045.3803 and I still can get the color come up correctly. Refer screenshot below. The color choices was set just what you set on your system. Look at the purple focus tab color and the yellow groupy background. It all appear correctly. And on the background there is a browser and the groupy background is "Mica style"

I wonder if your issue only happen on Chrome browser?

Thank you,

I don't know how to explain this, but yesterday Groupy started to work properly!  It might have occurred because of a Windows Update including a reboot.  I'm not sure because I didn't notice the change right away, but rather a few hours later.  But one issue remains:  when I maximize a Groupy window, the Groupy tab bar sits on top of the application tab bar, so it's not possible to maximize or minimize the Group.  So I have to use a regular window and resize it to nearly (but not quite) full screen.  That works, but it's a pain.

FYI: For the Background bar colors to work properly in Windows 10, you need to turn on "Transparency effects" in the Windows personalization settings.
