Five permanent licenses pack - worth the annual subscription?

I have a pack of five permanent (unlimited) licenses for Fences 4. I have used fences for over ten years.

I received an offer to upgrade to version 5 (all five licenses pack) for $18 a year.

What happens if I decide not to renew? Will all five licenses stop working, or will it stay at version 5 and won't upgrade?

Will I be able to use Fences 4 if I decide not to renew?

I hate subscriptions!

Hello,

If you don't resume the subs for Fences 5, it may stop working. But, your Fences 4 should still work.

How to cancel \ pause a subscription auto-payment

On your subscription page, click “Manage” and in the pop-up window, near the top right corner, click “Cancel Auto Payment” and this will turn off the auto-renewal. Please note that if you do not renew your subscription on the renewal date provided by the subscription overview page, your software may cease to function and/or no longer receive feature updates or patches.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for the update.

I'll stay with my Fences 4.

You could do what I did - purchase a permanent license. It's more money, but then you won't have to pay an annual subscription fee. In the long run, it should be less expensive.

Thank you. I thought about it, but I need five licenses, and I honestly haven't seen anything special between Fences 4 and the new Fences 5. Unless you discovered something special and I would love to hear about it, to justify the purchase of five licenses.

The icon on the task bar alone to have fences pop up over running apps is great. Also, the improved fade (Chameleon) is great, too.

I am not sure if these images will help you decide, but I thought I'd share them in the event it does. 🫡

The top image shows the fences with Chameleon enabled, opacity set to 40%, and colour enabled when hovering over a fence.

The bottom image shows the fences on top of an open window after clicking the Fences Peek icon (fifth start bar icon from the left).

Ah, very interesting. Thank you very much. I can see how this may assist during meetings and screen-sharing sessions.

Very nice display and usage. Thanks again.
