Saved groups not obeying taskbar settings

Hi there, I just bought an upgrade to v2 from v1. I used v1 for a long time, but never really used saved groups until recently. I think saved groups weren't yet in Groupy when I was heavily using v1 a few years back, but anyway, here's my issue:

I have my setting for "How should taskbar buttons for Grouped windows appear?" set to "Show all," however, when I'm opening saved groups, it's not only consolidating each group to a single icon, but it's consolidating ALL saved groups to the same icon. I'd rather they remain individual icons, or I wouldn't mind if it consolidated each group to one icon, but I don't want everything consolidated like this. I tested using the "Show only active window" and the only change there seems to be that hovering over the icon only shows the active windows of each group. It doesn't break each group into individual icons. Is there another setting somewhere I'm missing or something I can edit into the .groupy files manually?

In case it makes a difference, I do have this particular application set to "never automatically group," so when I set up the groups manually by running each instance and then click+dragging them to group them, I get the individual icons I'd prefer. It's just starting from the saved groups when things don't behave as I'd expect.

Thanks in advance

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not really sure on this one. Please post a video so we can understand it better. Also include information on your system. Windows full version number, groupy version etc. Do you have Start11 installed? Enhance taskbar mode turn on? Taskbar combine mode etc

Thanks

Hi, thanks for replying Basj, I actually think I figured out how to make things behave how I expected, and I don't think it's actually an issue with Groupy at all, but rather how I had been using Groupy with this particular app in the past.

At this point, I'm pretty sure this was all my own misunderstanding of what is "normal" behavior in Windows, since I would usually launch these instances from different shortcuts. When you launch the same app from different shortcuts each with unique commands, Windows treats the two instances as different apps, and keeps their icons separate. If you just launch two instances from the same shortcut, Windows will force them to be one icon on the taskbar. I think Groupy is just doing what Windows would normally do, I just had a setup that normally did what Windows didn't normally do. Installing 7+ Taskbar Tweaker has made everything work the way I was used to things working, with all the instances spread out into individual icons.

Appreciate the response, but I think everything is in fact working fine, and I just have an outlier of a use case.

Thanks
