Start 11 v2 - Recent Items - how to limit the list?

How to limit the list of recent items in Recent Items menu?

Yo, guys!

Several days ago I posted this question to the general Start11 v2 feedback thread but since nobody has replied and this is quite annoying, I am making a stand alone thread in hope that somebody shed the light on situation :)

So, the question is - is there a way to control how many items "Recent Items" will show, cause I have just upgraded from 1.47 to 2.0 and this list fills ALL of my screen now (see screen - http://joxi.ru/v29n1W6Hjnw8zA  ), while before it showed 10 recent files or so. Is it a bug, or is there some option I didn't find of how to control it?

I know about "clear recent items list" on right click, but after I do it, it again starts to populate the list without limits, which is not what I need. I need to keep it clean and tidy, with 10, maybe 20 max recent files. How can I achive that?

Try this...

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

Then create a DWORD value as JumpListItems_Maximum. Double-click it and give a number (try 10). This number will translate to show the recently opened files in a program from jumplist in the taskbar.

Restart. if this doesnt work then there is a problem with Start reading windows jumplist.  Delete the key you created and wait for devs to work it out.

Hope this helps.

I think the OP is talking about the Start11 "Recent Items" shortcut displayed as a menu on the Start11 menu. This hack, if it even works anymore, will not affect this menu. Take a look at his screenshot and you will see. This menu shows a full screen of recent documents and folders.

Exactly. So it seems like a work for the devs after all :(

Great, but how can I update then? Pushing "Check now"button in About shows me a window which says that my software is up to date, yet the version is original 2.0.

I would hope the beta will be updated to release status next week with a couple of small tweaks.

Got an update today and now The Recent Items list works as before, BUT with a different background color? See screen - http://joxi.ru/Vrw9wq4SgWYM32

Is it intentional, or a a bug, or is there an option which controls it somewhere?
