Windows 12 to kill off Start menu (again)
Looking like W12 may replace Start with copilot. Thoughts?

I would be surprised but buy Start11 now ![]()
Nothing surprises me with MS...it's stupid, therefore, likely. MS knows better than you.
Maybe that'll be what finally takes me back to the ultimate OS: The Linux Abacus distribution...or way better? Mac.
lol you better get back to adding code for a start button looks like we might need it. Of course I asked copilot if it was true and it says no copilot will only aid the start menu.
And yes I said "IT" john IT.
Meh I will likely just stop at 11. I do too much work on windows that cant be easily moved to linux.
AI is cool and all, but I do believe that Satya Nadella may need to tone down his excitement over it a bit. There are still a lot of old school needs such as a functional task bar and start menu mechanics that are needed rather then just moving towards AI ones.
Copilot may be very useful to some people in some professions but for the average Joe it is more of a novelty feature and in no way will be used as much as a traditional start menu.
It may not matter however, Microsoft has been out of touch with its approach for the start menu the entirety of Windows 11 now. I have pretty much grown accustomed to just using Start 11 to fill the void. Neil did have a clever plug in for that
