Galactic Civ 4

I have played Gal Civ 4 for over 69 hours with no issue. The game recently updated to V2.01 and now it wont run. Steam runs properly but when I try to play the game, the launcher opens but wont do anything when I click "Play". Steam says its running, then about 2 seconds later it doesn't. Then I am back at the launcher.

I am running the game through Steam on a PC with more than the minimum requirements in every category. 

Anybody else have this issue?

Is Stardock aware of this problem and trying to correct it?
