How on Earth do you END non-aggression pacts?

I just want to exterminate my neighbor. His influence is taking over my entire empire and he's about a third my size and lowest in all rankings, I literally have culture starbases every 3 tiles in a ring around the guy and he's still coming! I can't attack him, I can't declare war on him. All we have is a non-aggression pact and there is no way to end it, it is literally nowhere in the diplomacy screen it's not in "let's discuss something else", it's not in "trade". This has to be a bug surely? I've seen other threads say it's literally a clickable option in diplomacy yet it isn't. It literally isn't, it isn't anywhere in diplomacy, at all.

Hello Empreror-Noob!

All pacts do last 50 turns. This includes the non-aggression pact. I am not sure if you can check for how many more turns will it last, however by itself, this situation is not a bug.

Backstabbing mechanics are not in the game, and not many players would like those. It is a valid request, to have such a thing optional in game settings, though. However, as far as your playthrough goes, you will have to stick to the pacts signed with the AI.

Thank you very much for the reply. There are a couple of issues that may also be bugged. The first is that there is nowhere that directly states what pacts and treaties I have and with who with regards to length..... I can "infer" I have non-aggression because it tells me when I try to attack somewhere and it states if I cover over greyed out boxes but there's no indication as to time. There's the old "time to die" quip in diplomacy greyed out... Many turns back it was at 26 months, then it was 1 month.... Then it was back to 5 months... So it in effect magically never actually ends. Literally not having a tab somewhere that shows which treaties you have with who WITH a time frame is frankly shocking.

That's true. A lot of folk would like exploit amped up so they could be underhand with the AI.

However, if the AI was to be underhanded with them, which of course Stardock would implement as, hey, only fair, right? Queue Forum Rage "The AI Is A Cheating XXXX, Stardock!"

No one really seems to find in literally any other real-time or turn-based strategy game. Deal breaking AI is a hallmark of most popular titles. Ever played Total War?

Hello!

Was looking for this myself a week back.

You go into "Data Bank" and go to the "Treaties" tab then just scroll down and break it with the "Break Treaty" button.

Sorry for the necro.
