I only use AOL for the CD quality Radio, Sports, Music Video, and other features that you can only get through aol. (for only 9.95, thats not bad)
As far as browsing, I use IE6. [AOL sucks as a browser]

To call people idiots is just plain mean and shows what type of people you are.

AOL is a starting point for many who may not have the computer and network savvy that you have. It provides a lot of easy to access features and abilities for someone new to computers, as well as providing an easy way for parents to control their childrens' internet experience. Obviously they must be doing something right, look at the volume of subscribers they have, and look at how companies such as MSN and Earthlink are now trying to provide the same level of feature-filled software to expand their subscriber-base

BTW...I'm not a n00b to the internet and I use Earthlink's Total Access software for it's Pop-up Blocker, Privacy Tools (cookie control) and Accelerator (I'm on dial-up and it speeds up my browsing by compressing images and downloads)

What's interesting is that MSN explorer (which is free) has alot of these fast links already. Netscape also has it too if your looking for those quick links. Even though I can find pretty much any of the features listed in AOL on the net. I was going to start working on my own start page sometime. This would have everything that I need and it will be internal. Plus I can control it with my data .

Yes MSN (or any other browser) almost has every AOL feature, however there quality is not as good. I have yet to hear a better quality radio player on the net, then AOL for Broadband Radio.

For radio? I use and prefer the program "Music Match" The radio on that is excellent quality and many stations.

I have tried Music Match, even came with my Dell computer, and to me it still does not compare to AOL Radio for Broadband.

Believe me, if I could find all these qualities for free (and I have tried them all), I for one would use them.

That being said, I continue to use AOL for those features.

However, I am one to take suggestions to programs that maybe I'm not aware of.

kona has his opinions, just don't let them offend you. I would never use aol unless they paid me. It makes doing more advanced things complicated. That is a result of the interface being made to work for anybody. Its just what you intend to do with the internet. If you like to use aol's stuff then go for it, but you have to pay...and most of the stuff it is possible to find free.

Well lets see... 1.5 mega bits per second is not slow and....

AOL uses ALOT of resourses, is a memory hog, and takes up alot od disk space.

When I said about Launch, I didn't think they changed it so much since I listened to it. Geez, Yahoo ucked it up. >

When it first got up and running it was so awesome, I listened to it almost 24hours a day. I had over a couple thousand songs rated and had like the highest rating level they could give me I was a extreme addict. But Yahoo messed that up and are charging for features that were there before. Eww, nasty people.
