Yes, unless you're using a trial version. Also, after one year, you won't receive updates unless you renew, so if MS makes changes in its OS, Object Desktop may well become less functional.

Make sure you download the latest installers before your subscription runs out, and back them up.

Hello. I am somewhat confused by this. The post in https://forums.stardock.com/486310/object-desktop-support-faq#objectdesktop says the following:

If my Object Desktop subscription should lapse, will the products included in it continue to function?

For the ‘Classic’ Object Desktop product, if the subscription lapses, the included software will continue to function at the versions that were available when the subscription lapsed. Any Object Desktop Subscription purchase after May 2023 will see the software cease to function if the subscription is allowed to lapse.

So what am I missing? What exactly happens if the subscription purchased after May 2023 is allowed to expire, other than no more updates/supports? If there are no differences, then what exactly changed between Object Desktop purchased before May 2023 and after that? Clarification would be very much appreciated.

It's clear...

When did you purchase your subscription, and does the tag "classic subscription" appear as in the illustration in the link, below Object Desktop"?

I have not purchased it yet, and would fall under the "Subscription purchased after May 2023" if I purchased it now. My confusion is that the official post states that if I were to purchase one now, the software would not work after 1 year, yet the first reply in this thread seems to say otherwise, or at least does not mention this exception. Because this thread was created much after May 2023, I expected this to be mentioned.

Sorry for that...I'm still used to the old way.

However, things did change. Was searching for that thread, but couldn't find it. The quote I put in reply #3 is the relevant and applicable one as you'll be subscribing post the changeover date.
