Decommissioning ship on Main screen

I am unable to use a hotkey to decommission a ship on galactic screen.  I can go into ship management screen, then either select decommission button or use hotkey default is delete.  I even tried changing hotkey to see if it would decommission ship on galactic or main screen.

I believe this is meant to prevent people from accidently deleting their ships. However we are very thankful for your feedback, as it provides us with insights to how players perceive the game!
