Groupy 2 Installation Issue

Hi,

Today I purchased multi-device license and installed successfully this product on one Windows 11 machine.

When I installed this software on second Windows 10 Pro machine, I don’t have ability to activate it.

When I start this product, I see Uninstall  product popup (see attached image).

When I select No option, Groupy is closed.

Something wrong here!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try this. Uninstall Groupy 2. Reboot immediately after uninstall is done (important). Re-download the latest version from your account page. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest and report back.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks, I'll try to do suggested flow and will reply to you.

But i have another issue with my account and I can't download version from here.

First i purchased license and don't have account.
After this I decided to create account and used my FB account. For some reason your systam took name and Surname of my frend and not my details. After this I'm tried to change these details, your system saying that verification mail is sent, but I don't recieve anything. Also can't assign my license key to my account and haave only option to pay for the license and not just download.

Can you help me to resolve this issue too in praralel to activation problem?

Best Regards,

Leonid

For account issue it is best to raise support ticket using the link below, use the "Ask a Question" option. Include all information details. Remember to record down the ticket number for future reference if needed. Do not raise multiple ticket, that will make your ticket back to the end of the line. Send once and wait. Ticket will be answer by the order they send in.

Ok. then I'll send the ticket related to the account after resolve ing this one.
Is it OK to take the version downloaded from Windows 11 and install it on Windows 10 Pro?

Thanks,

Groupy V2.X should work without issue with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Hi,
I unsintalled the version, reboot machine, installed it again, reboot machine and after this launched Groupy 2.
First i see the popup where you asked to start Groupy (see groupy1.jpg) and when i slelcted Yes option, I see next popup with uninstall (see groupy2.jpg)
So, nothing is changed. I have same issue again like it was before.

Something wrong with this application.

Uninstall application
start application

I'm using Intel i7 CPU.

I not sure that will take a risk and make clean reboot by disabling all services. This is my work machine and I don't want to create more serious issues.

I'll try to perform Groupy purging and re-installing steps and test again.

But anyway, you must know from your application behaviour, why it is asking me for unstalling after install and why I can't provide purchased key in order to actvate this product.

Please check from your side as well, why this flow happens and not ask me to do the changes in Windows, which may help or not to resolve this issue.

Please try this first:

Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time. A "Run" dialog box will pop up, please paste the path below into the "Open" field and press OK:

%ProgramData%\Stardock\

In the folder that pops up, you should see a folder named Groupy2 . Please delete this folder and all of its contents.

After you have deleted that folder, please attempt to activate it once again and it should succeed without any errors.

Try that and report back.

I open this folder (Group2. but it was empty without any without any other folders and files.

I deleted it anyway and run application again.

The same flow was received: popup with application and and after this popup with uninstall.

BTW I even tried to run the application as an administrator - result is same.

Maybe I need to add/remove/change some registry fileds here or specify activation key in other way?

Do you have a folder name "Groupy"? If you do, try delete that one, try reactivate again. See if that help.

I already wrote in previous posts – I have empty Groupy folder.

I deleted it and run application again.

The result was same – two popups and last one with uninstall option.

This does not help.

No, you said you have Groupy2 not Groupy. Anyway, if that don't work. Please do try the cleanboot.

If cleanboot is a last option, it will take a time, becasue i can't do this on work machine now.

You seem to have emailed [email protected] (auto reply only and closed immediately) and not used the link bask provided you:

Hi Sean,

I can't install Windows 11, because my workstation can't recieve Windows 11 (hardware limitation).
Regarding messed data in my account, I'll open new ticket later when current problem will be resolved.

Since the last suggested option is cleanboot, I'm not sure that will do it, because this is my work machine and I'd not want to create more serious issue.

Maybe you have another solution for application activation?

Hi Sean,

Let's select this ticket in order to investigate the activation issue.

Do you have some solution for my issue.

I see that this is endless story without any solution for the activation issue.
