Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Start11 still doesn't automatically load on startup for Server 2022.

Uninstall.. REBOOT, reinstall.

We moved things back to how they were for earlier versions so it should work as before but it may be files are not being replaced correctly for you.

Good day, I'm reporting an issue found in previous versions too. Actually, when using search and typing chars, files aren't found if "old style win10 search" (small icons) trigger is not activated. See pictures. I have multiple installation with the same issue.

In example below, I'm searching for pwd.xls file, wich is found only in legacy (small icons) search mode.

Windows 10 version 10.0.19045.3208Search in Win10 modeSearch in native mode

I finally managed to get it to automatically startup on boot by doing the following:

1. Uninstall and reboot
2. Delete remaining Stardock folders from Program Files (x86), ProgramData, and %user%\AppData\Local
3. Delete all Stardock references within the registry (where I could)
4. Reinstall

Just doing points 1 & 2 didn't have an effect. Only the inclusion of point 3 resolved it.

It did mean I had to reconfigure the layouts etc, but that was a small price to pay.

The close all windows option wasn't working for me at first, I had to add it to the registry manually. Maybe it would work with a clean install instead of an update? Anyway it's working now.

Start Menu > Configuration > Visual appearance > Visual touches - Offset the menu from the taskbar: Only when centered start button  is the wrong way around. When the start button is aligned left, it will have the offset (similar to Always), whereas if the start button is centered, it won't (similar to Never).

I have reported this to the developers, internal reference #: ODNT-6994

With the latest windows update (NOT beta or dev version) and Start 11 version 1.47 all taskbar icons are no longer grouped.

If I disable Start 11 my taskbar icons are grouped again.

I want my taskbar icons grouped (multiple browser windows on the same icon) like it was before, but with the Start 11 modifications. This worked up until the latest windows update.

I posted a thread with an issue I found in this build (and also the previous build) -- screen recording included: https://forums.stardock.com/521849/bug-report-start11-when-clicking-on-run-as-administrator-the-dialogs-stay-o

I saw this thread after posting my thread -- sorry about that.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I've replied in your own thread.

I think you may have accidentally enabled the option in Start11 to ungroup taskbar buttons.

You can change this from the taskbar page in Start11 settings.

A windows update will have had no impact on this at all.

There are message that I haven't read, but the taskbar don't show badges.  It seems it only affect Whatsapp, other text app like Signal or Discord works just fine.

This is not just 1.47 issue, but has been here since forever:

You know when Windows updates, you get choises for

Shut down
Update and shut down
Restart
Update and restart
?

well, with Start11 it doesn't matter which I choose, Windows updates will be installed, like it or not.

Windows' own start menu obviously works without this issue.

If this has been reported before, I couldn't find it.

It's not completely fixed.  Here is the behavior on 1.47.3

notification works correctly, just badges won't show.

1. If you put whatsapp on the 2nd monitor, it won't display badges no matter what, and all points below don't apply to 2nd monitor because 2nd monitor don't show badges at all time.

2. if you put whatsapp on 1st monitor and minimize the whatsapp app, it also won't show badges on new message arrival.

3. You open whatsapp once on 1st monitor without reading the new message, and then minimize it once again, then the badge will show.

4. After you read the message, the badge will stay there, the badge will not go away until you minimize the app again.

Hello,

I can not reproduce you issue on my system. Please refer screenshot below. Please provide your Start11 taskbar setting. Enhance taskbar turn on? And combine is set to Always, Sometimes or Never?

And here is the video

https://file.io/TwYPGnVbluro

In the video, you can see that first whatsapp have no message

and then I send a message from another account to my whatsapp, you can see the notification, but there is no badge.

So, I click on then message and read it. The badge stay even after I read it. And then I minimize it, the badge finally disappear when whatsapp disappear

This is on primary monitor.

On 2nd monitor, it does nothing and show no badge at all.  Here is the video for 2nd monitor  https://file.io/VBXx9OCeGuap

This is a big ask, loginadmin, but if you fire up a Window Sandbox, install both apps with no changes at all to their settings, can you reproduce the issue?

Nevermind, we found how to reproduce it.
