test branch crashed my computer

unfortunately due to the nature of the crash i can not upload a crash report. however while playing the test version of the game after about 5 hours my computer which has two screens had both screens go black and my keyboard and mouse shut off i had to hard reboot my computer. i am running a ryzen7 3700x 8-core, with 32 gigs of ram, and rx vega64 video card with 8gb of vram. i am running windows 10 home edition. there are no errors related to the event in windows event log. also after so many hours of play time and so many ships the non test version crashes when i go to load a saved game.

Hey, does your last sentence mean, that after that single crash, you now experience often crashes, including the non-test branch?

no this was a single crash for the test branch. the non test branch is constant crashes of just the game when loading a large saved game. by large game i mean late game multiple starbases and garrison forces in each of my gravity wells and large fleet roaming about. i'm kinda scared to launch the test branch again until the next update.

Do you send crash reports of those saves? Or maybe you could upload such save file here?

You will find your saves in the following location for main Epic branch:
C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\sins2\saved_games\1008\single_player_user

You can't upload saves here, but you can link them to us from another location like Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox, if you have one of those services. I'd be interested to see the save to check whether the crash happens on our machines as well. It would be helpful to us to get.

Very odd, I was able to download the save, but the game isn't even seeing the save for me. I rolled back through about 6 different versions of the game build and can't see the save even listed. I think it's probably become corrupted.

Fyi I had a somewhat similar problem last main update; after the hotfix that followed on that I could not get a save (started before that hotfix) to be detected in the new version, despite you guys indicating that theoretically it should work. My guess is that there's something happening on updates that gives this unexpected behavior, perhaps on Epic's side?
