1.60.457293 not accepted on Steam

I loaded the Supernova Insiderer's update 1.60.457293 on EPIC, but when I load Steam, which is also set to Insiders, it gives this error message.  Verifying files on Steam did not help.

Saves from before 1.60 are not compatible with this update. For one there was a change to the custom Civ UI and also one of the settings UI

Gypsy2299 - this is not an old save.  I Downloaded 1.60.457293 from EPIC and started a new game.  It won't play on Steam.  I get the error message posted above.  First time I ever had this issue switching back & froth between EPIC and Steam.

Was just reading the error message when I answered at first.

You are trying to play an Epic save on Steam?

Just a little confused with your post.

If yes that would also be a no go as the Epic version and Steam version are two different games.

At least versions as Epic is not Supernova and at this time will not be ever.

Again just confused by your post.

I get that way very easily.

Gypsy2299 - Yes you're just a little confused B)  Epic actually had Supernova up before Steam and it has an Insider edition just like Steam.  It's Steam that doesn't have the non-Supernova edition and never will.  The 2 platforms are totally compatible because there is only one set of GalCiv IV files on your computer and they share them.  Like I said I've had no problem switching between the two before this.

K did not think I was on the right track but was told years ago the only stupid question was the one not asked.

I represent that remark.

As I said had to ask did not want to assume the answer.

No way gypsy, dumb people are not seekers of knowledge, they don't ask questions, they'd just continue on in blissful ignorance *_*

So here's what I've done as follow up.  I reset Steam to regular Supernova 1.60.457293 (removed Insider Beta) and the game ran just fine.  I reset Steam to Insider Beta and got the error message.  Opened EPIC regular Supernova 1.60.457293 and the game ran fine.  Opened EPIC Supernova Insider 1.60.457293 and game ran fine.

Send a save with explanation of what happened, devs need it.

I would have posted one, except RammaStardock already has a couple of saves from this game from other posts :digichet:

I'll PM him to make sure he sees this post.

I also just tried starting a new game on EPIC Supernova Insiders (1.60.457293).  I get the same error message when I try to load it in Steam Supernova Insiders -

However if I change Steam back to vanilla Supernova, the Epic Insiders game loads.

I tried saving a Steam Supernova game and then switching Steam back to insiders.  The new save won't load in Steam Insiders.  It works in EPIC.

I started a game in Steam Supernova Insiders and it works everywhere.

Apparently the Insiders build was not up to date with the most recent live build on Epic until today, would you be kind enough to see if thats affected this issue at all?

Started a new game in both EPIC and Steam Insiders.  They were both compatible with all 4 versions. My saved game that wouldn't load now also loads in Steam Insiders.  I'd say problem fixed.
