More than one diplomatic message but it skips past them

Hi Everyone,

 

New to the game and am playing Galciv 3 with Crusade expansion. I'm well into my game but notice at times when I enter a new turn I will get more then one diplomatic message now and then but the game flashes by them by me and I can never read or choose anything and simply goes to the last message I have. That one will display fine however I never get to see anything that came in before it. 

 

Has anyone encountered this before? It looks like a bug or something to me but hoping someone has seen this before and there is a solution?

I haven't played GC3 since GC4 came out, but I remember that when I was playing I'd often see a message from, say, the Arceans on one turn, then a turn or so later I'd get another message - the message window would open, it would display my last message from the Arceans, then the message would be overwritten by a new message. It's like the game engine was was opening the message window without refreshing its contents, then overwriting whatever was there. So I was really just getting one message but seeing an old one for a moment.

Perhaps this is what you're seeing?

I'm going to agree with Publius on this.  Despite all the "bug" reports on this, everything I have seen indicates the brief messages are actually from the previous conversation.  I even agree with procedure he mentioned.  I think if the code for displaying the messages could be adjusted so that the message window wouldn't show anything until the new message has been written, all these bug reports would end.
