Ship Component Shop?

Ok, so I just started playing Sins 2, there are a lot of things I like, some I hate, a couple I don't get. One of the things I don't get (and it's the one currently bugging me the most) is "Ship Component Shop". I cannot customize my capital ships, because apparently I am missing a "ship component shop". WTH is a ship component shop? Where do I get it? How do I get it?

It's the retrofit bay, you start with one and it can be researched to also be a 'repair bay'

Great, wouldn't it be simpler to just say "Retrofit bay required" when trying to build an upgrade?

We kept it generic because the other races have ship component shops that are not "retrofit bays". We generally like to be consistent in the naming of game systems everyone shares so it easier to understand when you switch races. If there are a lot of complaints we'll consider changing it the other way. Consider your post 1 vote for the other way :)
