Bug in civilization distancing and range?

Hi all,

Just played this for the first time since the most recent update.

I've posted a screenshot below of my starting sector where galaxy size = medium, number of sectors = many, civilization proximity = distant and number of players = 8.

Two things that seem very odd compared to previous plays:

1. Why are there so many civilizations starting in the same sector?

2. Why is my range so limited? I can barely get to any of the planets in the sector, and surely subspace streaming isn't the intended tech for that?

Started multiple games with the same issue. Tried looking through change logs but it wasn't clear if this was the intended outcome.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: just to be clear, I'm talking about supernova 1.51

Hey, thanks for the report. Amount of civs in a sector does sound like a bug, and we will investigate it!

As for range, it was a balance change, to make range upgrades valuable. If you want to travel further, you can either pick traits for your civ, or research the techs, or actually construct supply starbases, to expand your reach.

Hope this helps!
