Got Snow?

Got Snow?

Who else is getting whacked or got whacked yesterday by the first big snowfall of the season? I'm in central NH, gotten about 4"-5" so far and expecting a total of 15"-20" before it's done.

Ain't ever leaving New Hampshire, we're a bunch of rednecks drivin' pickup trucks with gunracks in the back and two hounds in the bed (they is a New Hampshire form of anti-theft device). Well, except to go on vacation. On vacation we go to Maine...it's 'Vacationland'. Says so right on their license plates.

No but most of my family has and i have quite a few relatives over there.

I have seen pictures and heard what my family told me.

All things considered we STILL have the most beautiful coast.

The 'Pipeline' on the North Shore here (Oahu) is considered the best surfing spot in the world...

The Oregon coast eats aussie coastlines for breakfast.

They don't call America the beutiful for nothing.

This is one big storm for December in Massachusetts. I live southwest of Boston and when all is said and done should be between 24 and 30 inches. Its time likes this I'm glad to have a snowthrower.

Hey EventHorizon....... would you like a lodger for a couple of months? It's gettin' cold here. and I always fancied a trip to Hawaii...................and I'll buy my own food!

I live in southern Maine and we're getting hammered with snow. It's been coming down for more than 24 hours now and there's well over a foot of it on the ground. It's supposed to keep coming until tonight too. I hate shovelling, but I'm confident we'll have a white Christmas now, at least.

Okay Mike..... then I DEFINITELY don't want to come stay with YOU then.....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Bryan....just head over here for a few months......will be 30 today....probably much the same or higher all week...

Last time I was on the deadly treadly it was 38....had a nice chat to a black snake on the track [12 snake tracks in 100 yards...I call it 'snake alley']....at least it wasn't the two brownies from the previous summer....one of those had a go at me and if he'd succeeded I'd be an ex parrot now [they rate just about on top for venom]...

I'm 49 and STILL have never seen snow falling....so if I was as closeted and one-eyed as Kona I'd have to claim it does not fall at all....

{I've never heard America called 'America the beautiful'.....but maybe 'America the gun-crazy'}...

Next race meeting at P.I. is the Historic bikes.....this year it was 42.6 in the shade [though I had no shade]...so I'm expecting another hot one.....and you ain't lived until you've sweltered under a hot Aussie sun, quaffing beer and roast beef and chicken while watching some idiot in a red Santa suit trying to pretend it's appropriate garb for the season....

No, EH...more a casual observation of a reality.

Most open-minded individuals would not presume their perception of the world, such as where the greatest coastlines are, etc would qualify them to host an opinion.....not without personal observation/experience.

Eg....I have never been to the US and am limited to the wealth of Hollywood's interpretation, etc to form an opinion and know full well it would be both inaccurate and slanted/biased.

I have seen coastlines in Australia, UK and the Mediterranean and each have significant and impressive 'coastlines' which I am sure would be equitable with those of the US.

I'm certain my friend who is the Lighting Director on the US Survivor series could shed more light on comparisons through personal observation as he's currently working on Number 8 [his 7th], and has one or three frequent flier miles, being involved with location-scouting...

I tend to defer to those with real-world experience than the sedentary opinion holders...
