Unable to activate Groupy2

I’m trying to activate Groupy2, but upon installation I’m presenting with a popup that tells me Groupy2 isn’t activated and, “Would you like to uninstall this product?” NO! I want to activate it! If I click Yes, Groupy2 is uninstalled, if I click No, then the app closes. Can I activate Groupy2 some other way than via the GUI?

Here's a link to a video of my issue.

Did you resolve this? I'm getting the same

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Is this a new purchase of Groupy 2?
  2. Have you tried uninstall, reboot, redownload the installer from your account page. reboot again?
  3. Was Groupy ever run on your system as a trial or fully activated product?

Thank you.

This is a fresh install, fully purchased and installing on a new laptop. It was fully activated on a previous laptop I had
I think it might be to do with the fact this is an arm64 machine

Do you have Object Desktop active subscription or you purchased Groupy as a stand alone? If you have active Object Desktop subscription and you download Groupy from the Object Desktop Insider list, that version should work on ARM base system. For Groupy standalone purchase, ARM base version not available yet.

Hello.

I had to reinstall one of the two PCs on which I was using Groupy2.
Since then, it has been impossible to get Groupy to work.
instead of asking me for my activation key, I just get a popup.

While looking for help on the internet, I discovered that several people had the same problem and that it has been going on for several months (some messages are dated from May 2023).

I tried the Stardock's only attempt to help I could found in a forum (After installing Group 2, there is no activation screen but asking for uninstallation » Forum Post by arularul) but that didn't helped at all.

My Groupy is activated on only 1 PC.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try these steps:

Close Groupy2.

Go to this folder C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Groupy2 (note that this is ProgramData, not ProgramFiles)

Delete Groupy2 folder.

Restart Groupy2. It should ask you to activate again. Try that and see if it work. Report back.

Thank you.

Next try this.

Create a new Windows Administrator account.

Its important that it is an Administrator account to ensure the PC has all associated privileges.

Windows 10 & 11:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/create-a-local-user-account-in-windows-10

Log in under that account and try again. Report back.

Hello.

I just tried (even though I'm not a fan of this idea) and it still doesn't work.

For me, the problem comes from Groupy itself which does not let us enter the registration key.

You are most welcome.

I am concerned, however, about whatever it is that is preventing the activation UI from popping.  It would be prudent to review your AV \ Malware software logs to see if it is prohibiting anything 'stardock' from running.
