[Resolved] DeskScapes 11b bugged !

Does not display correctly

Hi,

Prog: DS 11b 5

OS: Windows 10 Pro 22H2 - 19045.2728

I installed DS today over the previous DS10 and a "GERMAN" message (why not in my system language ? or at least in... english ?)  asked I guess to uninstall the old version before installing the new one which I accepted by clicking the button that triggered the uninstallation procedure. Had to redo the install after this.

The previous version DS 10 worked somewhat fine with several lacks though but... the animated wallpaper worked fine in the different display settings.

The actual DS11b5 does NOT work properly :

The animés screen display don't show properly 95% of the time: all I get is a tiled display on the 1/4th or 1/5th top part of the screen and the remainder of the screen is black. Sometimes, I chose a particular animé and the screen displays (on the top band) a previously chosen animé.

A big reprogramming is in order.

My screen is 2560X1080.

Another annoyment is the way an animated wallpaper is implemented.

Another annoyment is the fact that the actual animated wallpaper is not shown on the top of the main DS GUI for us to tweak.

I bought this DS11b program despite having bought the previous version thinking to see some great improvements but... I wait to see a functional upgrade. Should I ask for a refund ?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. DS11B5 work fine for me. Not sure why it is not working for you. It will be great if you can post a video grab showing us the issue you're having. Or, would like to suggest do a purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here:https://forums.stardock.com/485954/deskscapes-support-faq#reinstalling, remember to redownload the installer again. Reboot after the purge and after the install.  This is just to make sure you have a clean install Deskscape11 and retest all your issue.

Will reinstall as you suggest but I still have the installer. No need to re-download it...

Do you have a hash number to verify it ?

Hi,

Here are some images of DS 10 and DS 11 behaviour.

You can see that in DS 10, the rendering thumbnail viewer renders wrongly* BUT... the desktop result is correct.

The DS 11 images shows the opposite : the rendering thumbnail viewer renders correctly but... the desktop result is flawed !!!

*I have to stress that I changed my graphic card recently with a used Gigabyte GTX 1660 Ti OC 6G and installed the latest drivers.

If you still prefer a video, just ask...

Yes ! in both DS 10/11 reinstalls I previously did the "purge" then uninstalled the remainder artifacts of the program with 'Uninstall Tool'.

Before doing your cleanboot procedure, do you want me to purge and uninstall the program ?

Will now look at your suggested video...

No, no need to do the purge and reinstall steps again. Report back after you've check the video and compare the setting.

The problem was a faulty monitor ! I bought a new one and DX11 works fine now...
