If you really want to play FF10 and 10.2, then get a PS2. Why get a system that doesn't have games you really want to play? Besides you can play your PS1 games on the PS2.

I have a PS2.

Actually, i was also going 2 start the same thread...
But Kona Beat me to it

Kona If i recall right... You Have MSN 8 and MSN Broadband, Microsoft Windows, and a couple of other microsofts..... so Get another.... XBOX!.
Its Better. But is you are a PlayStation Fan then get a PS3.

Kona, I think that if you have a lot of original playstation games, you'd be better to get the PS2, as it is backwards compatible. I have had both the PS2 and xbox, and find the load speed of the xbox just marginally faster than PS2. In terms of online capability... they both are, but both require broadband access. I now only have the xbox, as I got tired of the old playstation titles. I also figured (at the time I bought the xbox a couple of years back) that being a microsoft product, loads of game developers would be bringing out titles for it.
When it comes down to it though... the choice has to be yours, as both cost a decent amount of money.
Whatever you eventually choose though, shop around, as many stores often bundle a bunch of stuff into a package. ..... oh, and wait till the "after Christmas sales" to get it if you can.

PS2, it has the games I want to play and I'd say that is a good enough reason. Already put quite a few hours on FF X-2.

Gamecube, a few must own titles came out for it like Resident Evil, Mario, Zelda and Mario Kart being the latest so I bought the system.

Xbox, Halo... uhmm... whens Halo 2 coming out? Only reason I got a Xbox was for Halo.

If you want to play FF X and FF X-2 then I'd say you should get one.

My system breakdown:

XBOX: Good effort by Microsoft, but they really should just stick to computers. Mostly concentrates on FPS.

PS2: Has the largest library of games. A good choice.

GameCube: Another quality product from Nintendo. Built solid and less likely to break. Zelda beats any Epic/RPG series.

Well tech cat ( Confusion about being male or femail ), I dont Like Epic/RPG 's. Actually I hate them. I love Action Games, Wrestling Games and Sports games.
The Coolest games I like are GTA III, GTA ViceCity, Sims, Sims2, SimCity 4, SimCity 4 Rush Hour, WWE Raw and Raw2, WWE SmackDown series and a lot like them...

What games like them come on GC or DC. They are Only Avaliable at PC, XB, and PS2.

Save your money and get a GameCube.

nintendo has no place in my house.

Zelda beats any Epic/RPG series.

WHAT? NOT TRUE. Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 as well as 10 has won more awards, and is more popular, and is liked more.

We have an X-Box, PS2, N64, and an old Genisis, love them all. I'm currently playing FFX and I think it is one of the if not the greatest RPG ever. I love it, and I'm looking forward to getting FFX2. I will say on the X-Box there are no really good RPG's, but it does have the best FPS ever Halo. Get the machine that has the games that you want to play.

Well, it's all been said already, but I figure every vote counts I dont think any of the "BIG 3" , umm.. how was it put.. suck? But if you already have a bunch of PS1 titles that you still like to play, there's a plus. And my fan isnt so loud. I cant even hear it unless I put my face in the machine, and once I am playing, as someone noted, I tend to have the volume turned up on my TV. And there are a ton of PS2 games to choose, so many great new titles have just been released. Besides, if you really like the Final Fantasy series, then your decision is made. I just started FFX, and whooboy! And I'm seeing the standard PS2 here in NY for $179, the online PS2's for $200. Add $25 for a PS2 memory card. As of yet, I havent seen a third party memory card for PS2, but I did find a Sony 2pack for $35. Anyway, have fun Kona

I don't like games where instead of actually duking it out in the battles, you make choices. I like Zelda better because there are puzzles to solve and you really get to hack away at the bad guys with your sword.

Fine, if you don't like Mario, Zelda, and all the great Nintendo first party games then so be it. I thought you decided you wanted a GameCube a few months back. Now you are contradicting yourself again by reverting back to your anti-Nintendoism.

I am a male. I like Epics, I don't like RPGs. Technically an RPG is a game where the battles are fought by making choices. That is not my kind of gaming. I prefer Epics because you have the puzzles to solve and you get to hack and slash away with your sword or whatever weapons you have. None of that choosing an attack then getting attacked when it's your enemy's turn crap. Nintendo systems are known to be good platforms for sports games and this is true for GameCube as well. No there is no GTA for GameCube. I don't care GTA at all. There are Sim games and wrestling games for GameCube. Why keep bringing up Dreamcast. Bring up Dreamcast like it's one of the three major platforms is like bring up Super NES as if it is still a major platform today.

The way I see it is that Nintendo Gamecube is FAR behind in technology.

Think about it.

3 inch disks?
No DVD function?
Out of the three big game machines, Gamecube has the lowest processor and graphics engine.
Out of the entire GC library, about 20 are only games I would play, The rest seem to be made for kids.

I will be getting my PS2 today or next week.

PS - ZELDA BLOWS!
