Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

  • On Windows 11, if you resize the taskbar height, click the Windows Notification Center (WNC), then resize the taskbar down, clicking WNC will have kept the height it had when it was taller. Restarting Windows Explorer will reset it.

Edition    Windows 11 Pro
Version    22H2
Installed on    ‎6/‎7/‎2022
OS build    22621.1413
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0

Using 1.4.2 Beta, although I saw this behavior with 1.4.1 as well. I run a dual monitor setup, both native resolution of 2560x1440. When I launch a game using DSR which runs the game at 3620x2036 and then renders it natively, my alignment for certain parts of my toolbar are off after closing the game.

Namely the search bar and pinned apps, and the Icons tab and date and time. Also to note this only happens on my primary display, as my secondary displays bar is fine. The only fix I have found is to restart the PC. Manually changing the resolution back and forth doesn't reset it.

That's not changed and has always been like that on Windows 10.

No. This is a desktop PC, with two non touch monitors. I was doing some experimenting as well. Hitting the "restart explorer" button in the taskbar setting menu for start11 fixed it. Faster work around then rebooting.

I'm running Windows 10 19045.2787 with Start11 1.39 stable, and my Win+X menu is in the center right above the start button.

This is also happening to me but on 1.41. Reported separately here: Version 1.41: Taskbar Unstable, Breaks When External Monitors are Plugged In » Forum Post by Kelderic (stardock.com)

Hello,

Currently on the beta version it seems that icons in the taskbar are too small, and also the spacing between these icons seems off (using small size taskbar). You can see how off the size is by looking at the window icon.

Small size taskbar has small taskbar icons.  The size is normal and is actually a tiny bit bigger than on previous versions of start 11.

What has changed is your OS no longer has any support for a small taskbar hence the start button being bigger than before making the icons seem smaller relatively.

The spacing between them on Windows before was incorrectly wider but the Start11 enhanced taskbar has always spaced them like Windows 10 did in small mode.

That said there may be merit in adding a small wider spacing mode on the newest OS to accommodate both those who used the enhanced taskbar in Start11 and those who did not but have to now.

We will look into doing that.

@Neil Banfield

If the Stardock team could reduce the start menu button to a small taskbar size and use larger icon spacing, that would be great!

Thanks for the quick support and quick replies :congrat:

On the first one you could use a custom start button.
