System > Display > Custom scaling > OFF/NONE

Taskbar display:

We have found the issue.

The non standard scaling factor has caused a rowcount in the registry to be set to 0.

If you open regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 and find PrimaryTaskbarRowCount and set that to 1 and sign out and in again it should behave itself until you manually resize the taskbar at which point if you are using 140% scaling it will reset to 0 and be an issue again.

The next update should resolve this count issue.

Quoting JagdishF,

Thank's for the updates!
I installd  the latest Beta_Version Start 11 v1.4.0.2
I set the transparency from the Taskbar to 10% - udate the explorer.exe and everyting is fine.
After Sleep Mode the the transparency of the Tasbar is gone.
In the settings of Start11 the transparency from the Taskbar still to 10%.
Restart exlorer.exe activates the transparency again.
Can somebody reproduce this behavior or is this a lokal one?
Thank's in advance for your help!

1.4.0.4 is the latest beta.  But we will investigate this to see if we can reproduce it.

Does the taskbar turn solid or 100% transparent?

I have the same issue. The taskbar doesn't respect the transparency or color settings.

Only after sleep?

If you open the Start11 settings and turn blur off and on again does it fix it?

I don't use sleep, but just it just happens sometimes, mostly when turning on or off monitors or launching fullscreen games. It fixes it turning it off and back on but only for a short while until it happens again.

That doesn't work for me. Can anyone point me to where to download the beta version?

Betas download should be available inside your product account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

I updated to 1.4.05 and transparency isn't working at all now.

EDIT:

Only 0% doesn't work.  1% to 100% work as expected.

Center-aligned start button isn't working anymore on triple screens. It used to work on the stable release, but not on the beta. Is this gone for good?

As noted in the user interface this is limited to two monitors on moment 2 (the newest MS release) for the experimental centre feature.  On pre moment 2 installs this does not have this restriction.

This is due to changes in the operating system.

As for if this restriction will remain, it is unknown at this time.  Certainly for now that's the restriction but things may change if we find a workaround.

Just wanted to chime in so if anyone has the same issue. I'm on W11 Pro - 22H2 - 22621.13. I downloaded the first Start11 beta the other day/week and my 'Show Hidden Icons' took at least 5 seconds to come up if not 10. I just upgraded to the latest beta via Object Desktop and now it's smooth as butter. If you're having issues, make sure to be on the latest version. It might help your issues. Start11 is such a great app. Thanks!

I definitely appreciate the amount of work you guys are going through because of this latest Windows update.  The latest Beta has solved nearly everything except on my system it's still not changing the size of the taskbar from medium to small. I have rebooted my computer, have tried each beta and did a reinstall, it just will not change the size of the taskbar.

That is only an option if you do not have an autohide taskbar and also on the newer version of Windows you will need the enhance the taskbar option in Start11 enabled unlike in previous versions of Windows.

I've been using Start 11 on Windows 11 since Windows 11 came out and I was using small taskbar without enhanced taskbar options enabled and I've never used autohide taskbar, small taskbar stopped working after the last Windows update KB5022913

That link gives me a Phishing warning, Woozie... Can you upload it to something else,

Can you share me the information you are getting? It's company server and should be totally safe.

Yes this is a new restriction in that new Windows update.  Prior to that the OS had an unexposed setting to change the taskbar size.  This was removed so to have it you have to enable the option for enhanced taskbar in Start11 to use that feature now.

Oh, I thought I tried enabling it and it still didn't work, guess I messed up there somewhere, thanks. I do prefer the start menu center aligned though, I have 3 monitors too so it looks like I'll have to make some compromise somewhere

That's so disappointing, it makes running stock much more attractive now. Feels like I wasted my money, I was so happy how it was running before.

I was seeing partial taskbar transparency issues with 1.39.1 and Windows 11 22H2 22621.1344 so thought I'd try 1.4.5.

This resolved the transparency issues but has rendered the start menu unusable when running the enhanced taskbar and stock start menu. The start menu shows but nothing in the menu highlight or is clickable. Switching to Start 11 start menu or turning taskbar enhancement off resolves the issue.

Hi!

I am using the latest stable release 1.39.1 and noticed if I am using file explorer and navigating between "This PC" and Drives and Folders each direction the explorer icon is changing but on the taskbar it changing with a huge delay. Sometimes it changing only when explorer window losts focus.

Can anybody reproduce this? I don't know if newer version (beta) solves this issue.

Thank you!

This issue occurred after the update. The icon on the tile should all have a transparent background. However, now it is all black.

Moreover, I want to open the start11 page with the pinned tiles page instead of the list of all apps. However, now, in default, it is always showing the list of apps.
