Flickering gear cursor

And larger size than example

I selected the"GEAR" because I had it on my other machine.

WWhen I selected the "gear" cursor, the entire cursor was flickering and twice as large as the example. The enlargement is set at 1.00. what did I do wrong?

I am running Windows 11.

Thank you in advance.

If you go to the settings page and click reset & apply, does that fix your problem?

I tried the reset button and nothing changed. I also rebooted the laptop, and nothing changed.

I was able to change the size of the cursor but it still is about three times larger than the example shown on that page. I tried changing a lot of the variables, and still nothing.

Thank you for the suggestion, maybe you have another idea or someone else. Thank you again.

Some cursors have issues with the current version of CursorFX. It is a well known issue and seemingly not getting much attention.  It could be that it's an issue with older cursors and can't be fixed.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. For the size issue. Are you more than 100% Windows scaling? If yes, than possibly that is the reason the Cursor look bigger and cursor flicker look worst on it.

Thanks

I am running Windows 10 19045.2673 and all of the CursorFX animated cursors flicker for me whether they are new or old. This started about a year ago. I'm not sure if a Windows update caused this, or if it's another app that I am running on my system that is causing it.

I tested This issue today on my Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines, and on all tested cursors the animated cursors flickered. I tested this using 100% display scaling.

I quit using CursorFX awhile ago for this reason. I have re-created my cursors, flybyNIGHT 2.0 and Atomic HYBRID, as actual Windows cursors which I use on both of my machines.

It's too bad this app has been neglected for so long, as it still seems to be very popular. I would be curious to find out if this flickering of animated cursors is happening for others, or if it's just you and me?

UPDATE: I tried the Purge and Re-Install and that did not help this issue.

So, is the CursorFX 4.03 animation process not compatible with the latest versions of Windows 10?

Is this a common problem, or is it just an incompatibility with something on my system?

Every cursor I have downloaded (which all used to work correctly) now flicker on the animated cursors.

Resetting the cursor did not work. It is not really a flickering of the large cursor it is really flickering between the 100% cursor and a 200% size cursor. It looks like it's flickering because the small gear cursor overlays on top of the shaft of the larger 200% gear cursor.

I am looking for a cursor in the library that is a skinny pointer instead of a larger triangle. I saw there was one of a Star wars lightsaber that I made download.

Thank you for everybody's comments

Okay. I discovered that the flickering was caused by the "Change pointer size and color" setting in the Windows 10 settings being set to 3. When I changed it back to 1, the flickering was eliminated.

Appreciate your report, but, I can not seem to find the setting for this. Need you help by posting a screenshot of where this setting be. Never mind, I found it.
