How can I download previous version? This update is very buggy

Is your only issue a problem with the clock positioning on a secondary display or are you encountering other issues as well?

This issue plus tray icons overlapping and sometimes pressing start button on keyboard doesn't bring up menu

As far as I can tell, the clock display on the secondary monitor is the only issue I'm seeing.

My PC today just updated to Start11 1.39.  My Windows is Windows 11 21H2 OS (Build 22000.1574).  On my second monitor the time and start button are overlapping.  It is OK on the main monitor.  If you turn off and on the second monitor it is OK for a split second and then the time and date move to behind the start button.  Both monitors are 24" and are set to 1920x1080.

I think the ones that may help you, need to know the full version number (OS Build) of you Windows 11. You can run winver.exe from command line to access that full number.

Have you turned off the transparency option in the OS or are you using a WindowBlinds skin?  I have checked here and with transparency enabled in the OS and no WB skin in use the menu correctly adjusts transparency on Windows 11.

No, transparency option is on in the OS, and I don`t use any other apps except Start 11.

Try this, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately after. Reinstall Start11, reboot again after. Retest and report back.

Linked below is a beta build of Start11 that we believe resolves the issue where the clock appears behind the Start menu icon when you are running the standard Windows 11 taskbar with 22h2 with secondary monitors.

Before installing this build:

  • Only install this build if you are experiencing the clock issue, there are no other updates or changes.
  • Because this is an out-of-band beta build, you may need to re-install Start11 for future updates - this may not be required but this is our default stance for these out-of-band builds.
  • If you are running Insider builds, this build is not intended to fix any issues related to those builds and could introduce new bugs for Insider versions of Windows 11.

The Start11 1.39 Beta Update fixed the clock display on my second monitor.  Thank you

I am experiencing the same issue with the position of the clock on a 2nd display after updating to 1.39. Note that I do not have any other taskbar modification utilities running and I also have Start configured with the "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" option disabled.

I have tried to uninstall Start11. This helps a bit. Transparency appears but with a very small percentage like 94% solid as a standard. When I change it to 11% there are no changes in Menu style.

I am running on full battery power and on plugged in. There is no difference. Taskbar transparency is OK and settings are changeable. Meny transparency setting in not OK.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Having the same issue als reply #5. The clock is misplaced on second screen and okay on first screen. Placement is exactly as shown in repy #5.

Also tried restarting explorer process, which does NOT solve the issue. Also terminating Start 11 does solve the issue.

After updating to the latest version, the clock is positioned incorrectly on the secondary display. It's fine on the main display.

Like in previous versions, there is a couple minor issues in v1.39 when doing a search in the Start11 Windows 10 style or Windows 11 style start menu. These don't occur with the regular start menu (Start11's start menu turned off).
Here is a video that demonstrates both issues below in the Start11 Windows 10 style start menu on Windows 11.

1) On my Windows 11 laptop only, after clicking the Start button, and typing the characters of my search, the cursor doesn't catch up with the end of the text I'm typing. It lags further and further behind.

2) On both Win 10 and Win 11, searching for components of the Windows Security app doesn't find them. Try searching for "Reputation-based protection" or "Exploit protection". You can search on "security" to find the whole Windows Security app, though.

In the meantime, I have Start11's search turned off. Also, since I've reported this several times already, I'll make this the last time for posterity.

OS Build info (the most current this time):
1) Windows 11 Home 22H2 Build 22621.1194

2) Windows 10 Home 22H2 Build 19045.2546

The issue with the search text should have been resolved a long time ago?  Do you have computers with mixed dpi monitors?  It may be worth uninstalling Start11, rebooting and then reinstalling the latest version of Start11 just in case files were not replaced correctly.

On the second issue, thank you for reporting this.  The search indexes the information it is provided by the OS and it looks like for some reason those ones are not being exposed to Start11.  We will have to investigate why.  Not exactly a major problem though given you can just search for security.

I have a dedicated external monitor for the Windows 11 laptop. No other app I use has demonstrated a similar issue.

Would my settings be lost doing that? I have quite a bit of settings I would have to redo, and doing that isn't worth it for this particular problem.

I agree this is a less important issue but I thought Stardock needed to be aware of it and see if it could be addressed. If Start11 can't deliver at least the search results that Windows search delivers, then some may decide to not use it for that reason.

Yes, I see the same bug in version 1.39.

Monitor #1 is fine, but monitors #2 and #3 both have the time jammed into the Windows button.

Hi!

Is there any way to reload start11 and update the changes after I modify an option via the registry?

I have a very particular use case where I switch from my monitors (with ungrouped taskbar icons) to my TV (where I need them grouped because I don't have much space thanks to scaling), and I found out that you can change the options in the registry, but if I do it from there it doesn't trigger an update. Could you maybe point me on the direction where I can do something like this?

Thanks

I have that text in search bar bug, the last version was my first version (since some other computer back in the Windows 8 days).

Also, its not just security stuff not appearing in search, its a lot of things that either come up in default windows search or at least when searching in the settings search box - for example, attempting to find disk management using any typical keyword you might use for that, doesn't lead to it showing anything relevant (well, it shows an installation of partition magic, depending on search term(s), but it should really be showing both).

Minor cosmetic issue that's been present in several versions, same issue in the latest version
Startmenu Button Icon scaling

only works properly at 100, 150, 200% - the rest is scaling incorrectly - 125, 175, 225, 250, 300, 350 - 175 is slightly oversized, the rest is undersized

My OS and software version,
Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2, OS build 22621.1194, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0
Start11 v1.39
*edit* - only other UI mod I use is TranslucentTB from Windows Store
